Frequently asked questions
Do you work with trauma?
The work I do is 'trauma informed coaching' which means I take into account the impact that any past pain has had but with a focus on the present and the future rather than delving into the past. If you are having severe emotional dysregulation, flashbacks, panic attacks, dissociation or suicidal ideation, therapy would be the preferable and most effective option.
I'm very new to this! What should I expect in our sessions?
Sessions are structured but relaxed. You should expect a safe, supportive and encouraging environment where you can develop the skills you need to help empower you in the present as a means to thriving in the future. We will work together to figure out what your core values are and what it is you really care about and work to build a stable foundation that supports this.
How do you work with clients?
What I do is offer a bespoke, flexible coaching arrangement that works for you. We can do a combination of online sessions via Zoom or we could do telephone appointments or email coaching. Keep in mind it doesn't have to be one way of working or the other, we can do combinations of these to accommodate your work/personal schedule. We can discuss your preferred way of working in the initial consultation.
Is there anything contra-indicated for life coaching?
Individuals who are struggling with BPD, suicidal ideation, psychosis, schizophrenia, epilepsy, depression or any serious psychiatric illness/personality disorder are generally not advised to seek life coaching. We do not process old trauma as our focus is present and future orientated.
Is everything I say in our sessions confidential?
Absolutely! Everything we discuss in our sessions is always held in confidence and your personal details are stored securely in accordance with EU GDPR regulations/Data Protection Act 2018/UK GDPR.
How soon will I start seeing results?
This really depends on how much you engage with the coaching process. It can be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on the outcome. What matters is how much you consistently take steps towards achieving your goal and the daily habits you apply.
I'm not sure if this is the right option for me yet. Is there a free consultation?
I always offer potential clients a free clarity call so we can chat a bit more about your needs. This can be done via the telephone or a Zoom session. This is completely free and there is absolutely no obligation to book.
